MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime draw with Aurora
University in a Northern Athletics Conference game on Wednesday
night at Warrior Field.
Darren Festerling (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) put
Wisconsin Lutheran on top 1-0 in the 20th minute when he found the
back of the net on a pass from Mike Reep (Bonduel, Wis./N.E.W
Lutheran). The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Warriors until
halftime.
Two minutes into the second half, Festerling gave WLC a 2-0
advantage after he scored again off of a pass from Edgar Albarran
(Kenosha, Wis./Bradford).
Aurora got on the scoreboard in the 60th minute when Danny May
scored off an assist from Drew Taylor, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The Spartans tied the game when Jody Hall scored unassisted in the
85th minute, sending the game into overtime.
Neither team could find a way to score through two overtime
periods, ending the game in a tie.
Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) made an impressive 18
saves in goal for the Warriors, who were out-shot 45-10 by the
Spartans in the match.
Wisconsin Lutheran (8-7-1, 5-2-1 NAC) travels to Mequon on
Saturday for a showdown with Concordia University Wisconsin in a
3:30 p.m. match.
