Warriors notch 3-1 win over Dominican

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over Dominican University on Tuesday night at the Igini Sports Forum.

Wisconsin Lutheran lost the first game of the match 30-22, but came back to take the final three games 30-19, 30-26 and 30-22.

Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) was one of two Warriors to record a double-double on the night by tallying 14 kills and 16 digs. She had a hitting percentage of .464. Ashley Madsen (Watertown, Wis./Luther Preparatory) also recorded a double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs. Erica Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) added 10 kills offensively and recorded seven solo blocks to key the defensive effort.

Jamie Matz (Hortonville, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) paced WLC with 17 assists. The Warriors tallied 20.5 total team blocks in the match and a .296 attack percentage on only 12 errors.

Wisconsin Lutheran (5-12, 4-3 NAC) will return home on Saturday for a triangular against NAC foe Concordia (Wis.) and non-conference opponent University of Chicago. Action gets underway at 11 a.m. in the Recreation Complex.
