MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 6-2 win over
Concordia University Chicago in its final Northern Athletics
Conference game of the season on Tuesday night at Warrior
Field.
After falling behind 1-0 in the 27th minute, Jake Jankowski
(Muskego, Wis./Muskego) scored the first of his two first half
goals in the 31st minute off of a penalty kick to tie the game at
one.
Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) put the Warriors
ahead 2-1 when he found the back of the net off of an assist from
Michael Wier (Greendale, Wis./Heritage Christian). In the 43rd
minute, Jankowski successfully connected on his second penalty kick
of the opening half to give the Warriors a 3-1 advantage heading
into halftime.
Wisconsin Lutheran continued right where it left off in the
first half as Edgar Albarran (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) netted a
score in the 50th minute from a Jankowski pass.
In the 57th minute, Jake Parnau (Milwaukee, Wis./Greendale) got
in on the scoring off of an assist from Wier for a 5-1 Warrior
lead. Darren Festerling (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
capped off the scoring in the 60th minute off of an Albarran
pass.
WLC, which saw five different player score in the contest,
totaled 18 shots to Concordia Chicago's 14.
With the win, the Warriors have solidified the No. 5 seed in the
Northern Athletics Conference Tournament, which begins on Monday. A
site and time will be announced as soon as it becomes
available.
Wisconsin Lutheran (9-8-1, 6-3-1 NAC) concludes its regular
season on Saturday with a non-conference game against Bethany
Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn. The game is scheduled to begin
at 12 p.m.
