Warriors collect 2-1 non-conference win over Bethany Lutheran

MANKATO, Minn. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team concluded its 2007 regular season with a 2-1 victory over Bethany Lutheran College in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors fell behind early as the Vikings scored a goal 22 seconds when Richard Rowell connected on a shot of an assist from Jason Plowman.

The Vikings held the 1-0 advantage until the 31st minute when Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) scored unassisted to tie the game at one heading into halftime.

Jake Jankowski (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) put WLC in front for good, 2-1, in the 69th minute as he found the back of the net from a pass from Arik McGathey (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran).

The Warriors tallied 21 shots in the game, with Teske totaling six shots.

Wisconsin Lutheran (10-8-1, 6-3-1 NAC) moves on to face Concordia University Wisconsin on Monday in the first round of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament. The match between the No. 5 seeded Warriors and No. 4 seeded Falcons is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Mequon.
