ADRIAN, Mich. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
football team fell to the Adrian College Bulldogs 54-7 on Saturday
afternoon in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association game
at Performance Stadium.
Wisconsin Lutheran was plagued by turnovers on its first two
possessions of the game as the Bulldogs built an early 10-0 lead, a
score that stood through the end of the first quarter.
The Bulldogs put 30 points on the scoreboard in the second
quarter and WLC trailed 40-0 at halftime. Adrian scored twice in
the third quarter taking a 54-0 lead into the final quarter. T.J.
Bodnar (Racine, Wis./Park) was responsible for the Warriors' lone
score of the day as he crossed the goal line on a three-yard run
with 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Adrian piled up 498 yards of total offense in the game, compared
to just 133 yards of offense for the Warriors, who managed only six
first downs in the game.
The Bulldogs, who scored six rushing touchdowns in the game, was
led by Troy Niblock's 181 yards on the ground, including three
touchdown runs.
Eric Treske (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) led the receivers with
three catches for 41 yards. Kaylan Gaines (Lake Worth,
Fla./American Heritage) led WLC defensively with a game-high eight
tackles, two for a loss, and a sack.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-6, 1-4 MIAA) continues its road swing next
Saturday with a game against the Tri-State University Thunder in
Angola, Ind. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Shive Field.
