MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's soccer team maintained its perfect record in the Northern
Athletics Conference with a 4-0 victory over Benedictine University
on Wednesday night at Warrior Field.
The Warriors got on the scoreboard just before the half in the
39th minute when Darren Festerling (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) found the back of the net off an assist from Edgar
Albarran (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford). The score remained 1-0 heading
into halftime.
Wisconsin Lutheran piled on three more goals in the second half
as Arik McGathey (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) began the scoring
in the 67th minute off of a pass from Michael Wier (Greendale,
Wis./Heritage Christian).
Wier and Albarran added unassisted goals in the 70th and 81st
minute, respectively, to send WLC to the triumph.
With tonight's win, the Warriors have already matched their win
total from last season with seven games still remaining on their
2007 schedule.
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-5, 4-0 NAC) looks to keep its perfect NAC
mark alive when it travels to Sheboygan on Saturday for a matchup
against Lakeland College beginning at 3:30 p.m.
