SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's soccer team suffered its first Northern Athletics
Conference loss of the season when the Warriors were defeated by
the Lakeland College Muskies 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Lakeland got on the scoreboard early in the first half with a
goal in the ninth minute. Wisconsin Lutheran came back to tie the
game in the 16 minute when Jake Jankowski (Muskego, Wis./Muskego)
found the back of the net off of a corner kick for the Warriors'
lone goal of the afternoon.
The Muskies added a goal late in the first half in the 42nd
minute to grab a 2-1 lead heading into halftime. Lakeland's final
goal of the day came in the 67th minute to cap off its 3-1 win.
The Warriors were able to manage 14 shots in the game, while
Lakeland was able to attempt 10.
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-6, 4-1 NAC) will be back in action on
Tuesday when it travels to River Forest, Ill., for a conference
showdown against nationally-ranked Dominican University. Game time
is scheduled for 4 p.m.
