MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College football team dropped to 0-2 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association after falling to Albion College 35-16 on Saturday afternoon at Raabe Stadium.

Bill Bacarella and Blake Evans combined to rush for 346 yards and four touchdowns as the Albion Britons handed the Warriors their fourth straight defeat.

Josh McCormick (Fond du Lac, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) put WLC up 7-0 after he scampered five yards on a QB keeper to cap-off a 15-play, 80-yard first quarter drive. The Britons answered on the ensuing possession on a one yard touchdown run by Bacarella to tie the game at seven at the end of the first quarter.

A 23-yard field goal by Tim Reichelt (Wauwatosa, Wis./Waukesha South) with 2:52 remaining in the second quarter put WLC back on top 10-7. The Britons answered back, as they did all afternoon, with another Bacarella one yard touchdown run to grab a 14-10 lead at the half.

Albion scored three touchdowns in the second half, including a touchdown pass with 36 seconds left in the game, deciding to air it out instead of running out the clock.

Wisconsin Lutheran scored it final touchdown of the game in the opening minute of the fourth quarter as Eric Treske (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from T.J. Bodnar (Racine, Wis./Park), dragging a number of Briton defenders along with him into the end zone.

Larry Hairl (Chicago, Ill./Roberto Clemente) rushed for a career-high 128 yards on 16 carries. He also caught six passes for 42 yards.

Colin Makepeace (Cape Canaveral, Fla./Cocoa Beach) led the Warrior defense with a game-high 10 tackles. WLC's defense held Josh Silvernail, one of the league's top receivers, to just two catches in the game. They also intercepted two of Evan's passes.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-4, 0-2 MIAA) hits the road next Saturday when it travels to Alma College for a showdown with the Scots. Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m. at Bahlke Field.
