Warriors fall to hot-shooting Elmhurst, 92-60

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team suffered a 92-60 loss to the Elmhurst College Bluejays in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon at R.A. Faganel Hall.

Elmhurst, a member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, shot 58.6 percent (34-58), including 55.6 percent (10-18) from three-point range, as it built a 20-point lead at the half.

Wisconsin Lutheran, which shot 37.5 percent in the first half, trailed 28-20 with 7:11 left, but the Bluejays went on a 17-3 run over the next five minutes to lead by 22 with 2:51 remaining in the opening half.

Elmhurst continued its hot shooing in the second half as it shot 51.6 percent from the floor.

Kristen Dillon (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) led Wisconsin Lutheran with 17 points, while Britany Lindert (Milwaukee, Wis./School of Languages) finished with 16. The Warriors were out-rebounded on the glass, 36-20, and were plagued with 26 turnovers.

Elmhurst (2-5), which had five players finish in double figures, was paced by Sarah Halbrader's 18 points on 6-8 shooting from beyond the arc.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-4) has two weeks off before it will be back in action on December 29 traveling to Boca Raton, Fla., for the Hampton Inn Classic hosted by Lynn University, a Division II school. The Warriors will face Northwood (Fla.) at 1 p.m.
