FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's basketball team was defeated by the Marian College
Sabres, 88-81, on Sunday night in a Northern Athletics Conference
contest at the Sadoff Gymnasium.
Wisconsin Lutheran came out of the gates quickly and built an
early 13-4 lead with 15:12 left in the first half only to see
Marian come back and tie the game, 39-39, at halftime.
The Warriors, who led by as much as eight points (52-44) in the
second half, held the lead until the 10:18 mark when Marian grabbed
a 57-54 lead and never looked back.
Danny Behm (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) paced WLC
with a game-high 25 points, while also grabbing seven rebounds to
go along with four steals. Nate Sorum (Mequon, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) and Christian Lindberg (Horsens, Denmark) finished with
19 and 15, respectively.
The Warriors struggled from the charity stripe, making just 15
of 25 (60 percent) attempts, while the Sabres finished 19 of 21
(90.5 percent) from the line.
Marian (6-2, 4-0 NAC) had six players finish in double figures
and was led by Jordan Van Ess's 19 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-3, 1-2 NAC) is off until December 28 when
it competes in the Clarke College Holiday Tournament in Dubuque,
Iowa. The Warriors will play their first game against Presentation
College on the 28th at 11:30 a.m.
