NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College women's tennis team split a pair of conference matches on
Saturday by defeating Concordia Chicago 5-4 and later falling to
Dominican 6-3 at the Princeton Club.
Wisconsin Lutheran picked up wins at No. 1 (Kara Spiegelhoff)
and No. 6 singles (Tanya Droster) and swept all three doubles
matches on its way to 5-4 win over the Cougars.
Spiegelhoff and Droster won by scores of 6-0, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-3,
respectively. Spiegelhoff teamed with Rachel Wendt at No. 1 singles
to win 9-7. Droster and Hannah Tullberg won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles,
while Shannon Censky and Alycia Spriggs were victorious at No. 3
doubles, 8-3.
In the Warriors 6-3 loss to Dominican, Alycia Spriggs (6-4, 7-6)
and Tanya Droster (6-4, 5-7, 10-5) won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles,
while Spriggs and Shannon Censky picked up a win at No. 3 doubles
(9-7).
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-3, 2-2 NAC) will be back in action on
Wednesday when it travels to Rockford College for a match against
the Regents beginning at 3:30 p.m.
