MEQUON, Wis. - Eric Treske caught a career-high
11 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns, but the Concordia
University (Wis.) Falcons defeated the Warriors 32-14 on a cool
Saturday afternoon in their final non-conference game at Century
Field.
Treske put the Warriors on top 7-0 when he hauled in a 30-yard
touchdown strike from T.J. Bodnar at the 3:24 mark in the first
quarter. The Falcons answered back on their next possession on an
eight yard touchdown run by Jerome Walker. Concordia converted the
two-point conversion after a botched snap and ended up taking an
8-7 lead into halftime.
CUW came out after halftime and scored three third quarter
touchdowns, taking a 29-7 advantage into the final quarter.
Bodnar and Treske hooked up again on a 14-yard touchdown
connection for the Warriors final score of the day with 10:05 left
in the fourth quarter.
The Falcons piled up 242 yards on the ground, opposed to just 35
rushing yards gained by the forest green and white. Each team
turned the ball over twice in the game, all via interceptions.
T.J. Bodnar completed 17 passes for 165 yards on 34 attempts.
Colin Makepeace led WLC with a game-high 12 tackles, while Micah
Adams intercepted two passes and recorded eight tackles.
Wisconsin Lutheran (1-2), who will be off next Saturday for its
bye week, will be back in action on September 29 when it opens up
conference play at Olivet College. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
in Olivet, Mich.
