MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's soccer team erupted for six goals, including five in the
second half to defeat Maranatha Baptist Bible College 6-0 on
Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.
Wisconsin Lutheran got on the board in the 36th minute of the
first half when Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) found
the back of the net off a pass from Edgar Albarran (Kenosha,
Wis./Bradford). The score remained 1-0 heading into
intermission.
Four minutes into the second half, Jake Jankowski (Muskego,
Wis./Muskego) put one in goal unassisted to grab a 2-0 lead. In the
71st minute, Michael Wier (Greendale, Wis./Heritage Christian)
joined in on the scoring when he put a ball in the net for a 3-0
margin. Teske, Jankowski and Wier each added a goal over a span of
two minutes to expand the lead to 6-0. Teske also added an assist
on Jankowski's goal.
The Warriors totaled 17 shots in the contest. Matt Eisold
(Burlington, Wis./Burlington) stopped five shots in goal in 79
minutes. Chris Lorig (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) filled in for
the final 11 to close out the shutout.
Wisconsin Lutheran (5-3, 2-0 NAC) will be back in action on
Wednesday when it hosts Elmhurst College in a non-conference game
at 7 p.m.
