FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Northern Athletics
Conference by defeating the Marian College Sabres 2-0 on Saturday
afternoon.
The Warriors got on the scoreboard in the first minute of the
game when Jake Jankowski (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) put the ball in
the net off of a corner kick from Edgar Albarran (Kenosha,
Wis./Bradford). The score remained 1-0 in favor of WLC as both
teams headed into halftime.
Darren Festerling (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
added insurance to the Warriors' lead in the 80th minute when he
found the back of the net off of a pass from Timmy Campbell
(Pewaukee, Wis./Heritage Christian). Wisconsin Lutheran totaled
eight shots, opposed to 10 attempted in the game by Marian.
Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) made two saves in goal
for the Warriors en route to the shutout.
Wisconsin Lutheran (6-4, 3-0 NAC) will continue its busy weekend
on Sunday when it plays host to the UW-Oshkosh Titans in a
non-conference match beginning at 5 p.m.
