MILWAUKEE - Britany Lindert (Milwaukee,
Wis./School of Languages) poured in a game-high 27 points to lead
the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team to a 75-59
win over the MSOE Raiders on Saturday afternoon downtown at the
Kern Center.
Lindert scored 15 of her 27 points in the second half and
finished the game going 8 of 9 from the charity stripe.
The Warriors trailed by seven points (14-7) at the 15:10 mark in
the first half. After six lead changes, WLC was able to take a
36-32 lead at halftime, a lead that it never relinquished.
Wisconsin Lutheran was able to extend its first half lead to as
many as 19 points late in the second half. The Raiders were able to
trim the deficit no closer than five points in the half.
Kristen Dillon (Germantown, Wis./Germantown), who was the only
other Warrior to finish in double digits, had 13 points. Chelsie
Bylsma (Cambria, Wis./Cambria-Friesland), who made her first
collegiate start, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
WLC made 22 of 29 free-throw attempts, while MSOE was able to
get to the line 17 times, making good on 11 attempts. The Warriors
were also able to win the battle on the glass, out-rebounding the
Raiders 36-31.
Dana Guthrie paced MSOE (1-13, 1-6 NAC) with 20 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran (6-6, 5-0 NAC) continues its brief road-swing
on Wednesday when it travels to River Forest, Ill., for a NAC game
against the Dominican University Stars at 7 p.m.
