RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College women's basketball team moved into a first-place tie with
Rockford College in the Northern Athletics Conference by defeating
the Dominican University Stars 85-52 on Wednesday night at the
Igini Sports Forum.
Kristen Dillon (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) scored a game-high
18 points, while Britany Lindert (Milwaukee, Wis./School of
Languages) added 15. Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen
Lutheran) came off the bench and poured in a career-high 13 points
and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
With the score knotted a nine apiece at the 13:59 mark of the
first half, Wisconsin Lutheran went on a 12-0 run via four straight
three-point plays. The Warriors led by 17 (42-25) at halftime,
their largest lead of the first half.
Dominican got no closer than 17 points in the second half as WLC
increased the lead to as many as 36 points (85-49) in the waning
moments of the game.
The Warriors, who had all 12 of their active players reach the
scoring column in the game, shot 46.7 percent (35-75) in the
contest and held a 46-37 advantage over the Stars on the glass.
The Stars (3-12, 2-7 NAC) were paced by Jessica Salinas' 16
points. Salinas poured in 31 points in the first meeting between
these same two teams back on December 8.
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-6, 6-0 NAC) hosts the Lakeland College
Muskies at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Recreation Complex.
