MILWAUKEE - Kristen Dillon (Germantown,
Wis./Germantown) scored 20 points and shot 6 of 7 from three-point
range to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball
team to an 80-32 win over Alverno College in a Northern Athletics
Conference game on Tuesday night at the Recreation Complex.
After Alverno scored the first basket of the game to lead 2-0,
the Warriors rattled off 22 straight points and held the Inferno
scoreless for over 10 minutes. WLC took a 33-9 lead into halftime,
holding Alverno to shooting only 14.8 percent (4-27) in the
half.
Wisconsin Lutheran came out in the second half and shot a
blazing 55.9 percent (19-34) from the floor, including 57.1 percent
(8-14) from beyond the arc. Dillon shot a perfect 4 of 4 from three
and scored 12 of her 20 points in the second half.
Britany Lindert (Milwaukee, Wis./School of Languages) added 14
points and Breanne Duebner (Manitowoc, Wis./Lutheran) grabbed a
career-high 14 rebounds, while also scoring eights points and
dishing out eight assists. Ten of the 12 active players on the
roster reached the scoring column. .
The Warriors outrebounded the Inferno 52-37 and held a 28-9
advantage in points off turnovers.
Alverno (4-9, 0-7) was led in scoring by Lisa Sorgi, who
finished with nine points.
Wisconsin Lutheran (5-6, 4-0 NAC) is back in action on Saturday
when it travels across town to take on the MSOE Raiders in a NAC
matchup beginning at 2 p.m.
