FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College women's tennis team dropped its final match of the regular
season to Marian University 8-1 in a Northern Athletics Conference
match on Wednesday.
The Sabres picked up closely-contested wins at No. 1 through No.
5 singles. Wisconsin Lutheran's lone victory of the match came at
No. 6 singles where freshman Svetlana Bornschlegl (Rochester,
Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Shelley
Hoepfner.
In doubles action, Rachel Wendt (Neenah, Wis./Fox Valley
Lutheran) and Hannah Tullberg (Milwaukee, Wis./Luther Preparatory)
fell 8-6 at No. 1. Shannon Censky (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) and
Cassie Dickow (La Crosse, Wis./Luther) lost 8-3 at No. 2, while
Emily Georgson (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Alycia
Spriggs (Slinger, Wis./Luther Preparatory) dropped an 8-6 decision
at No. 3.
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-10, 4-6 NAC) competes in the NAC
Championship, hosted by Edgewood College, on Saturday and
Sunday at Nielson Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis.
