Edgewood's two first-half goals enough to clip Warriors

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Edgewood College Eagles in a Northern Athletics Conference match on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

The Eagles scored both of their goals in the first half at the 13th and 24th minute, respectively, to build a 2-0 lead over Wisconsin Lutheran at halftime.

Edgewood maintained its 2-0 lead until the 73:30 mark of the second half when freshman James Sather (Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hale) found the back of the net off an assist from Jacob Mayenschein (Dousman, Wis./Kettle Moraine).

The Warriors attempted eight shots in the match, compared to 17 shot attempts for the Eagles. Goalkeepers Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) and Alex Vogel (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) combined for seven saves in the contest.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-8, 2-5 NAC) travels to Aurora, Ill., on Tuesday for a NAC game against the Aurora University Spartans at 3 p.m.
