MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team collected its fifth straight win on Wednesday
evening by defeating the Edgewood College Eagles 3-1 in a Northern
Athletics Conference match at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
Wisconsin Lutheran, which won for the 11th time in its last 13
matches, defeated the Eagles in four sets by scores of 25-21,
21-25, 25-14 and 25-18.
Sophomore Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran)
finished with 10 kills and four total blocks, both team highs, to
pace the Warriors. Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
and Kailey Buenting (Gifford, Ill./Saint Thomas More) added 18 and
15 assists, respectively.
Jaclyn Sack (Granger, Ind./Michigan Lutheran), Megan Sankey
(Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) and Jenna Neuberger (Muskego,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) each finished with 10 digs for WLC, which
picked up its first NAC road victory.
Edgewood, which was plagued by 44 attack errors, was led by Aryn
Wellnitz and Kim Paskey who had 11 kills each.
Wisconsin Lutheran (19-9, 5-4 NAC) makes the short trek to
Mequon, Wis., on Saturday afternoon for a NAC showdown with
Concordia University Wisconsin at 2 p.m.
