MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end on
Saturday, falling to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 3-2
in a Northern Athletics Conference tilt at the John Buuck Field
House.
Wisconsin Lutheran won the first set 25-16 before Concordia won
sets two and three 26-24 and 25-20, respectively. WLC took the
fourth set 25-18, but fell in the decisive fifth set 15-10.
Freshman Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
finished with 15 kills to pace four players in double figures for
Wisconsin Lutheran offensively. Neuberger also added 22 digs for a
double-double.
Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) had 12
kills, while Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) and
Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) each added 10.
Freshmen Kailey Buenting (Gifford, Ill./Saint Thomas More) and
Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) combined for 48
assists. Dana Welch (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) finished
with a team-high 33 digs.
Wisconsin Lutheran (19-10, 5-5 NAC) travels to Sheboygan, Wis.,
on Tuesday to take on NAC frontrunner Lakeland College at 7
p.m.
