SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College volleyball team was defeated by the Lakeland College
Muskies 3-1 on Tuesday night in a Northern Athletics Conference
match at the Woltzen Gym.
Lakeland, which clinched its second straight NAC regular season
title, topped Wisconsin Lutheran in four sets by scores of 25-7,
20-25, 25-11 and 25-13.
Sophomore Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran)
finished with 10 kills to pace the offensive attack for the
Warriors, who finished with a hitting percentage of just .060.
Freshman setter Kailey Buenting (Gifford, Ill./Saint Thomas More)
dished out 14 assists in the match.
Freshman Dana Welch (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led
three players in double-figures with a match-high 21 digs.
Brittanie Paulus and Andrea Mueller each recorded a
double-double for the Muskies (18-8, 10-0 NAC).
Wisconsin Lutheran (19-11, 5-6 NAC) closes out its regular
season slate at home next Wednesday, October 29 when the
Benedictine University Eagles come to the Recreation Complex for a
7 p.m. match. Seniors Linzi Engstrand, Jaclyn Sack and Sam
Sturomski will be honored prior to the match.
