MILWAUKEE - After seeing its four-game winning
streak snapped on Friday, the Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball
team rebounded with a 3-0 win over Northern Athletics Conference
opponent Alverno College on Saturday at the Recreation Complex.
WLC swept the visiting Inferno (2-16, 0-5 NAC) in three sets by
scores of 25-9, 25-21, 25-13.
Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Erika
Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) paced the Warriors with
12 and 10 kills, respectively. Johnson finished the match with an
impressive .750 hitting percentage.
Kailey Buenting (Gifford, Ill./Saint Thomas More) finished with
21 assists, while Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
added 12.
Defensively, freshman Dana Welch (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) tallied a match-high 13 digs for WLC.
Wisconsin Lutheran (13-8, 4-3 NAC) hosts Finlandia University at
3 p.m. on Saturday at the Recreation Complex to wrap-up the
triangular.
