MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's soccer team fell to the Dominican University Stars 6-1 in a
Northern Athletics Conference game on Wednesday night at Warrior
Field.
Dominican, which has yet to lose a conference game (26-0-1)
since its inception into the NAC in 2006, scored all six of its
goals in the first half to put a halt to WLC's upset bid. The
Stars' final three goals came in a span of only 1:09.
Wisconsin Lutheran erased the shutout at the 55:20 mark of the
second half when sophomore Jhonathan Rosales (Guatemala City,
Guatemala/English American School) found the back of the net off of
an assist from Jacob Mayenschein (Dousman, Wis./Kettle
Moraine).
The Warriors finished with three shots attempted in the game,
compared to 39 attempted by the Stars. Matt Eisold (Burlington,
Wis./Burlington), Alex Vogel (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine
Lutheran) and Chris Lorig (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) combined
for 20 saves in the contest.
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-7, 2-4 NAC) hosts Edgewood College on
Saturday in a NAC matchup at 3:30 p.m. at Warrior Field.
