ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to defeat
the Rockford College Regents 95-64 on Saturday at the Seaver Center
to improve to 3-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
Senior Britany Lindert (Milwaukee, Wis./School of Languages)
scored a game-high 25 points to lead four starters in double
figures for Wisconsin Lutheran, while fellow senior Whitney Miller
(Germantown, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) finished with 20
points.
Sophomore forward Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen
Lutheran) contributed a double-double with 16 points and 11
rebounds and Kristen Dillon (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) added 12
points and a season-high seven assists.
The Warriors built a 16-point lead at two different points
throughout the first half, but saw their lead trimmed to 10 points,
45-35, at halftime. Lindert scored 15 of her 25 points in the
opening half.
WLC shot 54.3 percent from the floor in the second half and
out-scored the Regents by 21 points, while extending its lead to a
game-high 31 points as the final horn sounded.
Wisconsin Lutheran dominated the glass, out-rebounding Rockford
48-27 and easily winning the battle of points in the paint,
40-16.
The Warriors shot 50.7 percent (35-for-69) from the floor for
the game, compared to 40.7 percent (24-for-59) for the Regents.
Britney Curry scored 12 points to lead a pair of players in
double figures for Rockford (2-7, 0-4 NAC).
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-2, 3-0 NAC) hosts NAC opponent Concordia
University Chicago on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Recreation
Complex.
