MILWAUKEE - Kristen Dillon (Germantown,
Wis./Germantown) scored a game-high 23 points to lead three players
in double figures as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's
basketball edged Concordia University Chicago 72-70 on Friday to
advance into the NAC Tournament championship game.
Wisconsin Lutheran, which shot 60.0 (6-10) from three-point
range in the first half, went in to the locker room with the scored
tied 36-36 after a combined 13 lead changes in the half.
Dillon knocked down one of her four three-pointers to begin the
second half to give the Warriors a 39-36 lead, a lead that they
would never relinquish.
Emily Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) finished with 18
points and Britany Lindert (Milwaukee, Wis./School of Languages)
added 16 for WLC, which shot 50 percent (11-22) from beyond the arc
for the game.
Wisconsin Lutheran, which tied a season-high by draining 11
three-pointers, turned the ball over only nine times in the game,
its lowest turnover output of the season.
The Cougars, who out-rebounded the Warriors 43-22, shot 47.3
percent (26-55) from the floor, compared to 42.9 percent (24-56)
for the Warriors
Marche Smith and Melissa Schwab each scored 14 points to lead
five players in double digits for Concordia Chicago (17-10).
Wisconsin Lutheran (18-10) will host Edgewood College, a 72-70
winner over top-seeded Concordia University Wisconsin, on Saturday
at 7 p.m. for the NAC Tournament championship at the Recreation
Complex.
