RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Danny Behm (Jackson,
Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Marcus Zondag (Randolph,
Wis./Randolph) combined to score 51 points as the Wisconsin
Lutheran College men's basketball team collected an 87-76 win over
the Concordia University Chicago Cougars in a Northern Athletics
Conference game on Monday night at the Geiseman Gymnasium.
Behm led Wisconsin Lutheran with 28 points on 8-for-12 shooting,
while Zondag recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10
rebounds. Kyle Plath (Lake Geneva, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) added
13 points.
The Warriors and Cougars exchanged leads four times throughout
the first half before WLC grabbed the lead for good, 13-11, with
12:34 remaining in the half. Wisconsin Lutheran led 39-31 at
halftime.
WLC led by as many as 13 points in the second half (63-50).
Concordia Chicago, who shot 58.1 percent in the second half,
trimmed the deficit to as little as five points with 2:49 left.
The Warriors shot 46 percent (29-63) from the floor for the game
and turned the ball over a season-low eight times.
Justin Gray scored 19 points to pace four players in double
figures for Concordia Chicago (3-16, 2-10 NAC).
Wisconsin Lutheran (14-5, 8-4 NAC) travels to Aurora, Ill., for
its final regular season road game on Wednesday to face the Aurora
University Spartans at 7 p.m.
