MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's basketball team collected its sixth-straight win with an
easy 71-48 dousing of the Alverno College Inferno in a Northern
Athletics Conference game on Thursday night at the Reiman
Gymnasium.
Kristen Dillon (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) scored a game-high
22 points on 6-for-9 from three-point range. Erika Laete (Spokane,
Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) and Britany Lindert (Milwaukee,
Wis./School of Languages) finished with 12 and 11, respectively,
off the bench.
Emily Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) added 10 points
and a team-high seven rebounds.
Wisconsin Lutheran, who shot 42.1 percent in the first half,
scored the first 10 points of the game and surged into halftime
with a 42-20 lead. Dillon scored 16 of her 22 points in the
half.
WLC used a 10-0 run over a five minute span of the second half
to extend the lead to 27 points (53-26). The Warriors led by as
many as 33 points in the half before Alverno scored 12 straight to
trim the deficit.
The Warriors finished the game shooting 38.0 percent from the
floor, while Alverno shot 40.7 percent. Wisconsin Lutheran tied a
season-high by draining 11 three-pointers.
The Inferno (5-16, 1-13 NAC) were led in scoring by Joslyn
Binkowski's 16 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran (13-8, 12-2 NAC) travels to Madison on
Saturday for a NAC showdown with the Edgewood College Eagles.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
