MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Beloit College
Buccaneers in its season opener on Friday at Warrior Field.
The Warriors fell behind early as the Bucs netted a goal just
:30 seconds into the match. Beloit added its second goal at the
35:01 mark and took a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
The second half remained scoreless for the first 13 minutes
before the Bucs added their third and final goal of the game in the
58th minute.
Wisconsin Lutheran attempted 10 shots in the game, compared to
15 attempted by Beloit. Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois
Lutheran) posted a team-high three shots. Matt Eisold (Burlington,
Wis./Burlington) stopped four shots in goal for WLC.
Bo Wilkins attempted a team-high four shots and scored one goal
to lead the Buccaneers.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-1) will host UW-Whitewater on Saturday at
6 p.m. at Warrior Field to conclude the 2008 Warrior Cup.
