MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team defeated the Lake Forest College Foresters 3-0 on
Saturday afternoon at the Recreation Complex to finish with a 3-1
record at its own invitational.
Wisconsin Lutheran defeated Lake Forest in three sets, 25-22,
25-13 and 25-23, sweeping its opponent for the second straight
match.
Freshman Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
finished with a team-high 11 kills. Leanna Miller (Muskego,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Kailey Buenting (Gifford, Ill./Saint
Thomas More) reached double-digit assist totals for the second
consecutive match. Miller finished with 13 assists, while Buenting
added 11.
Jaclyn Sack (Granger, Ind./Michigan Lutheran) had 21 digs to
lead the Warriors, while Buenting contributed with 10 digs of her
own. Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) tallied three
solo blocks and assisted on another.
Wisconsin Lutheran (3-1) is off until Saturday, September 6 when
it hosts MSOE and Clarke College in a non-conference triangular at
the Recreation Complex.
