Men's Soccer tripped by MSOE

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team was defeated by the MSOE Raiders 2-1 on Monday evening in a Northern Athletics Conference game at Uihlein Soccer Park.

The Raiders got on the scoreboard first when Mike Vanek netted a goal off of a header on an assist by Tony Mente at the 20:35 mark of the first half. The score remained 1-0 in favor of MSOE at halftime.

MSOE held its 1-0 lead until 6:52 left in the second half when John Varebrook added an insurance goal for a 2-0 advantage. The Warriors notched their lone goal of the game at the 85:20 mark when Edgar Albarran (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) connected on a penalty kick.

WLC attempted six shots in the game, compared to 18 shots attempted by MSOE. Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) made eight saves in the game for the Warriors.

Wisconsin Lutheran (3-4, 1-1 NAC) hosts Marian University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Warrior Field. The game is part of the Pack the Park promotion in an attempt to set an attendance record.
