Spartans topple Warriors in Women's Tennis, 8-1

NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team was defeated by the Aurora University Spartans 8-1 in a Northern Athletics Conference match on Tuesday at the Princeton Club.

The visiting Spartans (5-3, 5-1 NAC) were victorious in the first five singles flights and swept all three doubles matches to claim the 8-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran, which was playing its final home match of the regular season.

WLC's only match victory of the afternoon came at No. 6 singles where Svetlana Bornschlegl (Rochester, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) defeated Amanda Walden 6-3, 3-6, 10-3. With the win, Bornschlegl improves her perfect NAC record to 7-0 at No. 6 singles on the season.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-6, 4-3 NAC) travels to Lisle, Ill., on Saturday for a NAC showdown with the Benedictine University Eagles at 9 a.m.
