Warriors overcome 2-0 deficit to top Aurora

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Aurora University Spartans 3-2 on Wednesday night in a Northern Athletics Conference match at the Recreation Complex.

The Spartans controlled the first two sets of the match, winning by scores of 25-23 and 25-22, respectively. However, Wisconsin Lutheran did not give up and the momentum quickly turned in its favor. The Warriors won the final three sets 25-23, 25-11 and 15-5 to keep Aurora (1-11, 0-3 NAC) winless in conference play.

Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) each recorded double-doubles for WLC. Neuberger finished with 13 kills and 21 digs, while Sankey added 12 kills and a team-high 25 digs.

Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) had 22 assists for the Warriors, who have already surpassed their win total from 2007.

Wisconsin Lutheran (9-7, 2-2 NAC) travels north to Appleton, Wis., on Saturday for a pair of matches against Midwest Conference opponents. WLC faces Illinois College at 1 p.m., before a showdown with host Lawrence University at 3 p.m.
