Women's Tennis clipped by Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team was edged by the Benedictine University Eagles 5-4 in a Northern Athletics Conference match on Saturday morning at Lisle Community Park.

Wisconsin Lutheran lost its first four matches in singles action before notching wins at both No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Alycia Spriggs (Slinger, Wis./Luther Preparatory) defeated Evangelina Gallegos 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 to pick up the win at No. 5, while Svetlana Bornschlegl (Rochester, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) was a winner via forfeit at No. 6 singles.

In doubles play, Rachel Wendt (Neenah, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) and Hannah Tullberg (Milwaukee, Wis./Luther Preparatory) teamed at No. 1 doubles to win 8-4, while Emily Georgson (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) teamed with Spriggs to win via forfeit at No. 3 doubles.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-7, 4-4 NAC) travels to Madison, Wis., on Sunday for a pair of matches. The Warriors will face Edgewood College in a NAC showdown at 9 a.m., followed by a non-conference match against UW-La Crosse at 12 p.m.
