Volleyball sweeps Lawrence for third straight win

APPLETON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team swept past Lawrence University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match at Alexander Gymnasium.

Wisconsin Lutheran kept the Vikings (0-15) winless on the season by sweeping the hosts 25-15, 25-13, 25-15.

The Warriors, who finished the match with a .283 hitting percentage, were led by senior Sam Sturomski's (St. Francis, Wis./St. Francis) nine kills. Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) finished with a team-high 16 assists, while adding six digs.

Sophomore Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) keyed the defensive effort with three solo blocks for WLC, which notched its second three-game winning streak of the season.

Wisconsin Lutheran (11-7, 2-2 NAC) returns to Northern Athletics Conference action on Tuesday by hosting Concordia University Chicago at 7 p.m. at the Recreation Complex.
