MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team extended its winning streak to a season-high four
matches after coming back to defeat the Concordia University
Chicago Cougars 3-2 on Tuesday night at the Recreation Complex.
After dropping the first two sets to the Cougars by scores of
25-21 and 25-20, Wisconsin Lutheran came back to hand CUC its first
loss in Northern Athletics Conference action this season. WLC took
the final three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 15-11.
Freshman Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
finished the match with a team-high 13 kills to pace the Warriors
offensively. She finished with a .276 hitting percentage.
The freshmen tandem of Kailey Buenting (Gifford, Ill./Saint
Thomas More) and Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
combined for 38 assists.
Jaclyn Sack (Granger, Ind./Michigan Lutheran) led three players
who finished with double-digit dig totals with 14. WLC finished
with a season-high 16 total blocks in the victory.
Wisconsin Lutheran (12-7, 3-2 NAC) travels across town to take
on the MSOE Raiders on Friday at 7 p.m. in a NAC match at the Kern
Center.
