MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's basketball team committed a season-high 26 turnovers and
suffered a 78-63 loss to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons
on Saturday in a Northern Athletics Conference game at the Buuck
Fieldhouse.
Wisconsin Lutheran scored the first point of the game, but that
would be the only lead that it would have for the entire game.
Concordia Wisconsin led by as many as 12 points in the first half
and maintained a 10-point lead, 40-30, at the half. The Falcons
out-scored the Warriors 14-2 in points off turnovers in the first
half.
The Warriors trimmed their 10-point halftime deficit down to one
point (47-46) at the 14:16 mark of the second half, but the Falcons
responded with a 16-0 run to take a 63-46 lead with 10:31 left to
play. CUW led by a game-high 19 points (74-55) with 3:52 remaining
in the game.
Senior guard Danny Behm (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran)
tallied a double-double with 16 points and a career-high 12
rebounds. Sam Siemers (Nicollet, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran)
and Kyle Madson (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) finished with 13
and 10 points, respectively.
The Warriors finished the game shooting 42.4 percent
(25-for-59), while the Falcons shot 47.8 percent (33-for-69). Both
teams finished with 37 rebounds in the contest.
Kyle Barth scored a game-high 18 points to pace three players in
double figures for the Falcons (8-5, 6-1 NAC), who scored 58 of
their 78 points in the paint.
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-7, 3-3 NAC) heads downtown on Tuesday for
a NAC matchup against the MSOE Raiders. Tip-off is slated for 7
p.m. at the Kern Center.
