MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team rebounded from its earlier loss to Concordia
Wisconsin by defeating non-conference opponent Ripon College 3-1 in
its final match of its own triangular on Saturday afternoon at the
Recreation Complex.
The Warriors claimed their second win over the Red Hawks this
season by winning in four sets by scores of 25-23, 13-25, 25-19 and
25-23.
Senior outside hitter Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago
Lutheran) and sophomore setter Leanna Miller (Muskego,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) each posted double-doubles to pace the
Warriors. Sankey finished with 11 kills and 15 digs, while Miller
collected 25 assists and 13 digs. Sankey was the only Warrior to
finish in double-digit kill totals.
Defensively, sophomores Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) and Robyn Brukardt (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran)
registered 16 and 10 digs, respectively. Sophomore Alli Page
(Muskego, Wis./Luther Preparatory) added two solo blocks and six
block assists.
Anna Alvin recorded a match-high 20 kills for Ripon (11-16).
Sara Heim also contributed with a match-high 20 digs.
Wisconsin Lutheran (16-14, 7-4 NAC) travels to Dominican
University in River Forest, Ill., on Wednesday to play its final
NAC match of the season at 7 p.m. Both teams have clinched NAC
Tournament berths, but final seeding will be determined until
conference play concludes Wednesday.
