MILWAUKEE - Senior Megan Sankey (Waupun,
Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) and sophomores Jenna Neuberger (Muskego,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) each tallied double-doubles to lead Wisconsin Lutheran
College to a 3-0 sweep over the MSOE Raiders on Friday night in a
Northern Athletics Conference volleyball match at the Recreation
Complex.
Wisconsin Lutheran (11-9, 4-3 NAC) collected its fourth straight
victory by sweeping the cross-town rival Raiders in three sets by
scores of 25-23, 25-19 and 25-19.
Junior Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) recorded
a match-high 14 kills to lead the Warriors, who won 3-0 for the
fifth time this season. Sankey finished with 12 kills and a
match-high 21 digs, while Neuberger had 10 kills and 19 digs.
Miller dished out 49 assists and added 14 digs. Robyn Brukardt
(Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) contributed with another 16
digs.
Julie Windish finished with nine kills and 13 digs to pace MSOE
(1-25, 0-7 NAC).
WLC honored to Sankey, the team's only senior, prior to the
start of the match.
The Warriors return to action tomorrow for a triangular at
Alverno College. WLC battles the Inferno in a conference match at
10 a.m. before taking on North Park University in a noon
non-conference clash.
