MILWAUKEE - Senior forward Sam Siemers (Nicollet, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) scored a career-high 35 points to send the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's basketball team to an 86-63 win over rival Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday night in a Northern Athletics Conference game at the Recreation Complex.

The Warriors and Falcons played through five ties and five lead changes until 6:15 left on the first-half clock when Siemers drained one of his seven three-point field goals for a 26-23 advantage, a lead WLC would never relinquish the rest of the way. Wisconsin Lutheran closed out the half on a 13-2 run to take a 42-30 lead at halftime.

Siemers scored 24 of his points in the opening half while shooting 6-for-7 from beyond the arc. WLC shot 45.2 percent from the floor in the half, including 50 percent from three-point range.

The Warriors held at least a 10-point lead throughout the entire second half of action. The hosts used a 12-2 run to extend their lead to a game-high 29 points (84-55) with 2:56 left to play.

Siemers finished the game shooting 12-for-16 from the floor and 7-for-8 from downtown for his career-high 35 points. Senior Kyle Madson (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) poured in 20 points, while senior Ben Ziesemer (New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) added 12 points, all in the second half. Sophomore Alex Merbach (Kaukauna, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Warriors, who out-rebounded CUW 44-38.

The Warriors, who shot 46.9 percent (30-for-64) from the field for the game, finished with just nine turnovers.

Cory Stark scored 12 points and was the only player to reach double figures for the Falcons (5-4, 2-1 NAC), who shot 32.3 percent (20-for-62) from the floor for the game.

Wisconsin Lutheran (2-5, 2-0 NAC) hosts non-conference opponent Silver Lake College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning to conference play next Saturday by hosting Rockford College at 7:15 p.m.
