WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University
Pioneers defeated the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors women's
tennis team 9-0 in its season-opening non-conference match on
Tuesday at the Kilgour Tennis Center.
The host Pioneers (1-0) took the first six flights of singles
action before sweeping the final three of doubles play. Hannah
Tullberg (Milwaukee, Wis./Luther Preparatory), Svetlana Bornschlegl
(Rochester, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) and the doubles team of Emily
Georgson (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Terri Glasel
(Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) each won a pair of games, but
that was as close as the Warriors would get.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-1) jumps right into Northern Athletics
Conference action on Saturday with a double dual in River Forest,
Ill. The Warriors take on Dominican University at 10 a.m. before
facing Concordia University Chicago at 2 p.m.
