CHICAGO - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team defeated Ripon College 3-2 on Friday afternoon in
its first of four weekend matches at the North Park University
Invitational.
The Warriors captured the first two sets 25-16 and 25-20 before
Ripon came back to win sets three and four by scores of 25-11 and
25-14, respectively. WLC won the fifth and final set, 15-10.
Junior Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) and
senior Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) each recorded
nine kills to lead the WLC attack. Sophomore Leanna Miller
(Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) tallied a double-double with 18
assists and 10 digs.
Freshmen Callie Menges (Lewiston, Minn./Onalaska Luther) chipped
in with 10 assists and Robyn Brukardt (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley
Lutheran) finished with a team-high 14 digs. The Warriors concluded
the match with eight total blocks.
Wisconsin Lutheran (5-4) concludes its first night of
competition Friday by taking on invite host North Park at 4
p.m.
