WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University's Craig
Carlson connected on a penalty kick in the 78th minute to send the
Pioneers past Wisconsin Lutheran College 1-0 on Tuesday night in a
non-conference game at Schneider Stadium.
Carlson's second-half penalty kick came after the Warriors and
Pioneers played a scoreless game for the first 77 minutes. Andy
Prentice finished with a team-high nine shots in the match for
Carroll (3-0-2), which is coming off of back-to-back NCAA
Tournament appearances. The Pioneers recorded a total of 32 shots
on the night.
Senior Ryan Powalisz (Milwaukee, Wis./Heritage Christian)
attempted two of WLC's three shots in the contest. Fellow senior
Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) kept the Warriors in the
game by making an impressive 17 saves.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-3-1, 0-1 NAC) searches for its first
conference win on Saturday when it hosts the MSOE Raiders at 3:30
p.m. at Warrior Field. The contest against the Raiders is part of
WLC's Pack The Park promotion.
