MILWAUKEE - Ellie Peckham recorded a
triple-double to lead Edgewood College past the Wisconsin Lutheran
Warriors 3-1 on Tuesday in the Northern Athletics Conference
opening match for both teams at the Recreation Complex.
Peckham finished with 11 kills, 29 assists and 11 digs for the
Eagles (3-6, 1-0 NAC), who also got a team-high 17 kills from
Mallory Palmer. Kim Lueck paced five players with double digit digs
with a match-high 25.
Edgewood took the first two sets 25-21 and 25-15 before the
Warriors rallied for a 25-23 victory in the third set. The Eagles
won the fourth set 25-18 to take the match 3-1.
Sophomore Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
tallied 19 kills for the Warriors. Fellow sophomore Leanna Miller
(Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded 34 assists, while
senior Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) led the way
with 15 digs. Miller and Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) each chipped in with 12 digs.
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-6, 0-1 NAC) hosts two-time defending NAC
champion Lakeland College on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Recreation
Complex.
