LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College broke
open its 1-0 halftime lead by scoring four second-half goals en
route to defeating Wisconsin Lutheran 5-0 on Tuesday in a
non-conference men's soccer clash at Farwell Field.
The Foresters (3-4) jumped in front 1-0 at the 9:20 mark of the
opening half when Nelson Dorvlo scored unassisted. The contest
remained 1-0 in favor of Lake Forest through one half of action.
WLC finished the half with five shots, while the hosts attempted
eight shots.
Dorvlo netted his second goal of the game 3:43 into the second
half as the Foresters, who outshot the Warriors 13-1 in the second
period, opened up a 2-0 lead. Lake Forest added onto its lead by
netting goals in the 54th, 70th and 75th minute.
James Sather (Milwaukee, Wis./West Allis Hale) was credited with
two shots to guide the Warriors offensively. Senior Matt Eisold
(Burlington, Wis./Burlington) allowed all five goals and saved
seven shots for Wisconsin Lutheran. Senior Alex Vogel (Jackson,
Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran), who made one save, and junior Chris
Lorig (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) also saw action in goal for
WLC.
Four different players recorded three shots each for Lake
Forest, which outshot the Warriors 21-6. Kahiye Hassan added a pair
of assists.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-5-1, 0-2 NAC) looks to snap its five-game
losing streak when it hosts Ripon College on Sunday in its final
non-conference contest of the season at 4 p.m. at Warrior
Field.
