WAUKESHA, Wis. - Wisconsin Lutheran's
volleyball team dropped its fourth straight match on Thursday night
when it was defeated by the Carroll University Pioneers 3-0 in a
non-conference match at the Van Male Fieldhouse.
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-9, 0-3 NAC), which topped Carroll in three
sets back on September 5 at the Recreation Complex, was handed a
three-set loss by the Pioneers. WLC fell 25-20, 25-19 and
25-21.
Sophomore Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
tallied a team-high seven kills for the Warriors, while Leanna
Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded a match-high 17
assists. Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
finished with 10 digs and Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen
Lutheran) registered all of WLC's 4.5 total blocks.
The Pioneers (9-8), who made their home debut after playing
their first 16 matches on the road, were paced by Megan Turckes'
eight kills. Samantha Derynda had 17 assists and Heather Kulibert
collected 15 digs.
The Warriors will be in search of a victory next on Tuesday,
September 29 when they travel to Rockford College for a NAC contest
against the Regents at 7 p.m.
