Benedictine clips Warriors, 6-3

NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Benedictine University Eagles defeated the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors by a score of 6-3 on Saturday morning in a Northern Athletics Conference women's tennis dual match at the Princeton Club.

Freshman Kathryn Hendee (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) continued her strong play by notching a two-set victory over Ewelina Stachulak 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

After the Eagles (8-5, 7-3 NAC) picked up wins at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles, Svetlana Bornschlegl (Rochester, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran), a sophomore, recorded WLC's other singles victory at No. 5 with a 7-6, 6-2 defeat of Nicole Choinka.

Hendee and senior Hannah Tullberg (Milwaukee, Wis./Luther Preparatory) partnered at No. 1 doubles to claim an 8-4 win over Stachulak and Lisa Carrillo. BU captured the final two flights of doubles action to preserve its 6-3 triumph over the Warriors.

WLC (4-9, 3-5 NAC) hosts Aurora University at the Princeton Club on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its final home dual match of the season.
