MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's tennis team closed out the Northern Athletics Conference
portion of its schedule on Tuesday by falling to the Concordia
Wisconsin Falcons 9-0 at North Shore Country Club.
Concordia Wisconsin (11-4, 9-1 NAC), who is currently in second
place in the conference standings, won all nine flights over the
Warriors (4-11, 3-7 NAC).
WLC's singles players Kathryn Hendee (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah),
Hannah Tullberg (Milwaukee, Wis./Luther Preparatory), Terri Glasel
(Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran), Erin Mathiak (Slinger,
Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran), Svetlana Bornschlegl (Rochester,
Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) and Taylor King (Wauwatosa,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) were defeated at No. 1 through No. 6,
respectively. CUW claimed 8-1 wins at each of the doubles flights
over the Warriors.
Wisconsin Lutheran concludes its regula-season schedule
Wednesday when it faces UW-Whitewater in a 6:30 p.m. non-conference
match in Whitewater, Wis. WLC will serve as host of the 2009 NAC
Championships this weekend, October 3 and 4, at Nielsen Tennis
Stadium in Madison, Wis.
