ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team picked up its first Northern Athletics Conference
victory of the season Tuesday night by sweeping the Rockford
College Regents 3-0 at the Seaver Center.
Wisconsin Lutheran dispatched the host Regents in three sets by
scores of 25-8, 29-27 and 25-22. Junior Erika Laete (Spokane,
Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) recorded match-highs of 12 kills and four
solo blocks to lead the Warriors (8-9, 1-3 NAC).
Senior Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) and
sophomore Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
followed with nine kills each. Neuberger also tallied a team-high
11 digs for WLC, which finished with a .274 attack percentage.
Sophomore setter Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
collected a match-high 27 assists.
Rockford (2-12, 0-3 NAC) was led by Megan Lawler's nine kills
and 14 digs. Bethany Price finished with 24 assists.
The Warriors begin a three-match homestand Friday by hosting
Maranatha Baptist Bible College in a 7 p.m. NAC tilt at the
Recreation Complex. The match, which kicks-off WLC's Dig For Life
campaign, will be the first of five home contests during the month
of October, which is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.
