WLC opens Invitational with 3-1 win over Lawrence

The Wisconsin Lutheran volleyball team won three straight sets after dropping the first to defeat Lawrence 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-17) in the opening match of the WLC Invitational at the Recreation Complex.

Junior Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) dominated the middle with 12 kills and just one error for a .611 hitting percentage. She also had three blocks.

Senior Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs, while sophomore Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) added 12 kills.

The Warriors (2-1) served up 10 aces compared to the Vikings' (1-1) five.

WLC continues action in the invite against North Central University at 7 p.m.
